Website News

It's been a very busy start to the year here! On reviewing the website and content it was decided that things needed some reworking in order to provide more of a range of products along with better up to date news and reviews etc so that our blog readers hopefully become better entertained and informed.

The main part of this process took the best part of 10 days to complete but I thought it better to keep the site open during this time albeit with a limited amount of content.

Social Media News

The social media side continues to develop rapidly and yesterday the Twitter page twitter.com/MonarchMusicMed reached the 2000 follower point so thank you to everyone involved there. Facebook continues to be a great outlet for the business too and I'd like to thank everyone at the Facebook page facebook.com/monarchmusicmedia for following/giving it a like. I've also been looking into other social media sites such as Tumblr, Instagram and Pinterest etc to see how best these could help spread the word also.

Hope everyone's year has started well and as always a big thanks to everyone for your continued support, any feedback and ideas for going forward are much appreciated!

Happy New Year to everyone and I hope 2015 will be good for you!

It's been a predictably busy Christmas & New Year period but has also been very nice to find a little time to relax and enjoy the company of family and friends, although as usual far too much food and drink has been consumed and the first game of indoor football next week after a 3 week break should be rather interesting as a result of that!

Our Twitter page twitter.com/MonarchMusicMed has enjoyed some rapid growth over the last month and has gone from around 500 followers to breaking the 1500 mark today so a big thank you to everyone involved, the bigger the page gets the more coverage I'll be able to get for the musicians, artists and games developers that I'm promoting so it's nice to be making some clear progress with that and of course anyone wanting to get involved in cross-promotion is very welcome to join the page.

The YouTube page youtube.com/c/MonarchMusicMediaRudheath has not yet experienced the mass interest that the Twitter page is enjoying but does at least have its first subscribers with a few views of the videos so I'll continue to add content there but the key to growth I think is in the tagging of the content so that's the next avenue I intend to explore more.

At the Facebook page facebook.com/monarchmusicmedia the number of likes are increasing not just from internal traffic but also from visitors via Twitter so it's nice to see social media linking effectively. There's now an ever-growing list of our featured artists on SoundCloud and YouTube which appears as a pinned post at the top of the Facebook page, lots of great talent out there covering all sorts of musical genres (see below for link).

The SoundCloud page soundcloud.com/monarchmusicmedia is where our featured artists are hosted and there are now over 30 tracks plus a couple of my own productions and collaborations. Hip hop and rap fans in particular will enjoy these as for some reason we seem to have had an influx of that genre lately.

Time seems to be flying by, we're now into the final month of 2014 and many of us seem to be caught up in a bit of a shopping frenzy with the Christmas period fast approaching. I couldn't quite believe some of the scenes I witnessed on the news from Black Friday and I really hope we're not going to see more and more of that madness in future!

As far as Monarch Music & Media is concerned it has of course been the busiest time of the year, with the main focus being to try and get more involved with Twitter as I'm discovering it's just as good if not better than Facebook for networking, marketing and just getting your message out there. What started out as a tool to simply enhance the website and bring in extra traffic has fast turned into a larger scale cross-promotion operation and I've now created a YouTube channel where I can showcase some of the talented but as yet unknown bands, musicians, games developers and artists out there. As a result of all this activity the Twitter page has grown rapidly in the last couple of weeks and has now reached the 500+ follower mark.

There's also a new address for the Google Plus page as I've had to merge two existing pages in order to simplify things.

So almost a year on from starting this business there is still lots more to be done but it's been an interesting journey so far that has taken me in many new directions and brought me into contact with some great people.

With all the existing content now transferred over from the old website to the new one we felt it was time to add some new content too and wanted to cater for customers outside of the UK as well as domestically. As a result a new Sports Fans section has been created featuring clothing, equipment and accessories for several sports including Football, Soccer, American Football, Ice Hockey, Baseball, Basketball, Tennis, Handball, Motor Racing, Cricket, Rugby and Cycling.

These items will be available at great value prices from our trusted partner Amazon's UK, USA, Canada, Germany, France, Spain and Italy sites.

You'll find these links down the right hand side of the page.

Just above the Amazon links there are Social Profile buttons linking to Monarch Music & Media's Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn, RSS Feed and Email.

Hi again from Monarch Music & Media, it's hard to believe it has been a month since the last update blog but a much-welcomed increase in Amazon sales, our first eBay auction sales and continued promotion of the site / distribution of the business cards I have been kept rather busy of late!

Looking at the site and where to go next it's still clear that more content needs to be added to some of the sections, the excellent website monitoring application from StatCounter gives lots of useful information on where the website visitors are coming from and which are the most popular page visits etc so it is a case of collating all this data and updating the site accordingly, giving more choice and content in the most visited areas etc.

It is very encouraging to see the commission sales side of the business steadily growing but I feel that can only be maintained or improved upon by keeping the promotion side going. The trial Facebook advertising campaign has just recently come to an end and has been useful both in that it has brought new people to the Monarch Music & Media Facebook page and also directly to the website's homepage. Of course it is a fine line with the promotion as nobody wants to be constantly spammed with repetitive information so I am bearing that in mind all the time too when posting any content or links up on the Facebook page.

With 2014 now in full swing it has been a busy start to the year for Monarch Music & Media. Today we received the business cards ordered from Vistaprint and are very happy with the quality and design, all for a great price too and we highly recommend their services! The business cards have a rather minimalist looking design and include the main essentials for an online business : Company Name, Website Address and Email Contact Address. After a steady start with the promotion side of things we finally had our first 2 customer orders over the weekend so big thanks go out to our good friends Rockstar Beads of Northwich, a great place to visit for all your jewellery requirements. You will find their stall on the Indoor Market.

Staying with promotion, it has been great to see the Facebook advertising campaign has been further stepped up and is now reaching a much bigger audience than when it first began a few weeks ago. This is helping both the Facebook page and the website to receive more publicity.

The initial interest in the new DJ Equipment section is also looking positive with quite a few website hits, mainly coming via Facebook but encouragingly also directly from search engines such as Yahoo, Google, Bing etc.

Welcome to the final update of 2013, a year which for myself started out very quietly but became really busy in the final couple of months due to the launch of the Monarch Music & Media venture!

Personally it has been a real roller coaster of a year, losing several good friends way before their time has been difficult and indeed forces one to rethink their outlook on life in many ways, perhaps persuading us in some cases to take more chances and opportunities if and when they come our way. On the positive side I have been very much impressed with the coverage the website has enjoyed in its first 6 weeks or so, having only a minimal budget for advertising and marketing available it was always a concern but social media such as Facebook and Twitter seemed to have worked well.

The Facebook advertising in particular has proved to be the highlight of the last couple of weeks, reaching more new visitors than ever before and across several countries, this had started off rather slowly but now seems to be gathering momentum nicely. Also the Amazon aStore pages have been showing an increased interest of late, I guess not too surprising with it being the holiday period but still nice to see.

Looking ahead to the New Year I hope to further improve the range and choice of music and media items for sale on the website and hopefully if time permits I would like to add more content to the DJing side of Monarch Music & Media with maybe some more mixes and/or production products added to Mixcloud and SoundCloud respectively...

It just now remains for me to wish you all a Happy New Year and a healthy and prosperous 2014, if you're out partying have a great night!

The past week seems to have really flown by and as usual for myself thoughts have turned to some last-minute shopping in preparation for the holidays. The major website news is that earlier in the week I took a good look at all the content and while I am reasonably happy with the amount of items available I did feel the general look and feel of the web pages could be improved. This of course is a longer and more drawn out task now than when the website was created only a month ago with around 85 pages to edit!

There has also been some positive news on the marketing front after a good friend kindly provided me with some advertising space on one of the virtual worlds programs which gets quite high visitor traffic so it's nice to see Monarch Music & Media now has a presence in cyberspace.

Hopefully the site now looks more linear and uniform that it did previously and this should make it quicker and easier when adding new content and replacing existing content in the future but as ever feedback is much appreciated so any comments, thoughts or ideas can be posted up on the site forum or you can contact me via Facebook, Twitter and email or simply reply directly to the site update blog.

As we approach the year end I think the next steps will be to add some more live eBay auction links to some of the pages that currently do not have them and possibly a little more content on the mp3 front.

There is still plenty of space for reciprocal linking so if you would like a link to your business or personal website, Facebook page, blog etc please get in touch and a banner ad or logo can be created.

Welcome to the latest update which I guess is unofficially becoming a weekly update at the moment but the plan really is to add these when there is new news, content and site updates and not just because a certain time limit might be reached etc.

I've been concentrating mainly on the advertising and marketing side of things during the last week, looking into places I can promote the site with some real diversity ranging from the more obvious music and social media forums and sites to the more obscure ones such as virtual worlds. I also took a closer look at Facebook advertising which is probably going to take a deal of experimentation and some degree of trial and error as you can set various parameters when creating the adverts to produce some very different results each time.

Having found the eBay live RSS feeds to be useful in that they provide constantly updated information with links to live auctions I have increased their presence on the website with the intention of focussing on specific genres to make them as relevant as possible to what the customer is searching for.

Into December and Monarch Music & Media is already 3 weeks old!

On reviewing some of the media content again I noticed that some of the CD pages were a little sparse compared to the Vinyl and DVD areas so this week I have been focussing on adding links in the House, Jazz, Pop, R&B and Trance CD sections, 60 in total and covering a wide range of musical tastes with lots of them being bestsellers and current chart toppers.

I'd like to be really flexible with the site regarding content so again visitor feedback and opinion is very much encouraged and appreciated, if there are any music genres or artists, tv or movie categories etc in particular that you would like to see more of for sale then you can either leave a message on the website forum, send an email to contact@monarchmusicmedia.com or find me via Facebook or Twitter.

I've not had much time at all to turn my attentions to my own Christmas shopping this week but I hope it isn't stressing everyone out so far!

Monarch Music & Media - Site Update 22/11/2013

With the site just a few days old I have to first thank everyone for their support and interest as the response on Facebook in particular has been fantastic!

I would also like to thank several people for giving me some general feedback, reporting any errors or broken links etc and as a result I have been doing a few minor alterations and adding some content in between some site promotion via various search engines and publishing websites.

The main changes in the last couple of days are that I have now added 4 Amazon aStores each for the UK, Canada and the USA, making it easier for our visitors to go directly to their own local version of Amazon rather than have to go to the default UK version then have to log out and back in again if you're not in the UK. I've also tidied up the CD Home section of the Storefront as I felt there were rather a few too many genre categories in the drop down menu so have moved some of the content and condensed it a little so that the navigation looks better.
