Time seems to be flying by, we're now into the final month of 2014 and many of us seem to be caught up in a bit of a shopping frenzy with the Christmas period fast approaching. I couldn't quite believe some of the scenes I witnessed on the news from Black Friday and I really hope we're not going to see more and more of that madness in future!

As far as Monarch Music & Media is concerned it has of course been the busiest time of the year, with the main focus being to try and get more involved with Twitter as I'm discovering it's just as good if not better than Facebook for networking, marketing and just getting your message out there. What started out as a tool to simply enhance the website and bring in extra traffic has fast turned into a larger scale cross-promotion operation and I've now created a YouTube channel where I can showcase some of the talented but as yet unknown bands, musicians, games developers and artists out there. As a result of all this activity the Twitter page has grown rapidly in the last couple of weeks and has now reached the 500+ follower mark.

There's also a new address for the Google Plus page as I've had to merge two existing pages in order to simplify things.

So almost a year on from starting this business there is still lots more to be done but it's been an interesting journey so far that has taken me in many new directions and brought me into contact with some great people.

With all the existing content now transferred over from the old website to the new one we felt it was time to add some new content too and wanted to cater for customers outside of the UK as well as domestically. As a result a new Sports Fans section has been created featuring clothing, equipment and accessories for several sports including Football, Soccer, American Football, Ice Hockey, Baseball, Basketball, Tennis, Handball, Motor Racing, Cricket, Rugby and Cycling.

These items will be available at great value prices from our trusted partner Amazon's UK, USA, Canada, Germany, France, Spain and Italy sites.

To navigate to the country of your choice use the Sports Fans drop down menus at the top right hand side of the screen just underneath the company logo.

On the home page there are now direct links to the home pages of Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.es and Amazon.it so our international customers from those countries can be taken to the correct site with prices in their own currencies. You'll find these links down the right hand side of the page.

Just above the Amazon links there are Social Profile buttons linking to Monarch Music & Media's Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn, RSS Feed and Email.

New Monarch Music & Media website goes live!

Monarch Music & Media is very pleased to announced that the new website is now up and running :-

It's taken a few weeks to transfer all the relevant existing data and files off the old website, removing some of the outdated content and adding in new products and site features but hopefully the general look, feel and accessibility are now better than they were. Your feedback on this is of course much appreciated, in particular anyone viewing the site using mobile phones / smartphones / tablets etc. 

There is lots of totally new media content in the form of books (paperback, hardcover and kindle formats) and phones (accessories, chargers, mobile phones, smartphones) and also a computer hardware section where you can find graphics cards, hard drives, monitors, processors, RAM, ROM drives etc.

The new & used Vinyl Records and CDs for sale direct from Monarch Music & Media sections have been revamped and condensed into single listing pages so that it's now much easier to find all the items currently for sale in the one place as previously it was felt that they were a little too spread out and hard to locate, and that there were perhaps too many options on the drop down menus.

The Gaming section remains in a similar format featuring Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Wii, PC, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One games but items have now been broken down further into particular gaming genres.

The DJ Equipment section continues to feature Cartridges, Controllers, Headphones, Lights, Microphones, Mixers, PA Systems and Turntables.

DVDs have been moved to the media section and are categorised into genres such as Comedy, Drama, Family, Music etc and there is now also an age classification rating where applicable for the benefit of parents buying items for their children.

Many more CD's, MP3s and Vinyl Records can be found in the Music section and are broken down first into genre (the dance genre being yet more specific) and second into the format, album, single or compilation etc.

The Links section has also been simplified and categorised so it should be easier to find them than it was. As ever if you're a business or just have a personal page you want to promote and you would like a link to your website / blog / Facebook page / Twitter etc adding then just get in touch!

Social Media is a big player these days of course and the site features links to the Monarch Music & Media pages at Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus and LinkedIn along with a contact email address. These buttons are to be found at the top of the right hand task bar. The beauty of a blogspot page is that it's very geared towards social media integration and site visitors can just post their comments instantly and directly rather than have to use the emailing system which at times can be slower if servers are temporarily down or the recipient is away etc, it also helps to encourage social interaction to give the whole place a more friendly feel.

Time seems to have flown and it's hard to believe Monarch Music & Media is almost a year old so I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all your support, encouragement, joining the Facebook page etc. It's all very much appreciated!

Summer seems almost upon us and I hope everyone is well! It's been rather a quiet spell for Monarch Music & Media of late but promotion of the company continues mainly via word of mouth and distribution of the business cards so a big thank you to all those who have helped out with that side of things :)

As most of you will know I am just a little bit into my football and with World Cup Brazil 2014 kicking off next Thursday 12th June I decided to make an Amazon aStore for fellow fans during the occasion. On there you will find lots and lots of World Cup related items in the following categories :-

Hello again from Monarch Music & Media. It seems like time has really flown since the last update, spring is definitely in the air here in the UK now too and hopefully everyone is well!

Sales at our website have shown a slow but steady increase in the opening months of 2014 which is an encouraging sign and distribution of the business cards continues with the help of some good friends so that the message is getting out there both locally and beyond.

This weekend I've been working on website updates and have totally revamped the Amazon aStores section to now showcase the UK stores as I am finding the majority of our web traffic seems to be based in an around these isles. There are also new Art and Fashion & Beauty categories added to the links sections and there are a couple of local businesses featured so do check those out if you're in the Cheshire area!

Hi again from Monarch Music & Media, it's hard to believe it has been a month since the last update blog but a much-welcomed increase in Amazon sales, our first eBay auction sales and continued promotion of the site / distribution of the business cards I have been kept rather busy of late!

Looking at the site and where to go next it's still clear that more content needs to be added to some of the sections, the excellent website monitoring application from StatCounter gives lots of useful information on where the website visitors are coming from and which are the most popular page visits etc so it is a case of collating all this data and updating the site accordingly, giving more choice and content in the most visited areas etc.

It is very encouraging to see the commission sales side of the business steadily growing but I feel that can only be maintained or improved upon by keeping the promotion side going. The trial Facebook advertising campaign has just recently come to an end and has been useful both in that it has brought new people to the Monarch Music & Media Facebook page and also directly to the website's homepage. Of course it is a fine line with the promotion as nobody wants to be constantly spammed with repetitive information so I am bearing that in mind all the time too when posting any content or links up on the Facebook page.

With 2014 now in full swing it has been a busy start to the year for Monarch Music & Media. Today we received the business cards ordered from Vistaprint and are very happy with the quality and design, all for a great price too and we highly recommend their services! The business cards have a rather minimalist looking design and include the main essentials for an online business : Company Name, Website Address and Email Contact Address. After a steady start with the promotion side of things we finally had our first 2 customer orders over the weekend so big thanks go out to our good friends Rockstar Beads of Northwich, a great place to visit for all your jewellery requirements. You will find their stall on the Indoor Market.

Staying with promotion, it has been great to see the Facebook advertising campaign has been further stepped up and is now reaching a much bigger audience than when it first began a few weeks ago. This is helping both the Facebook page and the website to receive more publicity.

The initial interest in the new DJ Equipment section is also looking positive with quite a few website hits, mainly coming via Facebook but encouragingly also directly from search engines such as Yahoo, Google, Bing etc.

A very Happy New Year to everyone and hopefully 2014 brings you health and good fortune!

After a busy few weeks since getting the business up and running last November it was nice to enjoy a short break over the holiday period which allowed me to recharge the batteries and have a think about new ideas of how to go forward with Monarch Music & Media.

The first job was to create a bright new colour scheme for the website reflecting the new year, new beginnings theme. As always your feedback as to the general look of the site is more than welcome.

Another thing that came to mind when thinking about site content was that I realised that although having plenty on the website highlighting and showcasing my DJing history, experience, mixes and productions etc there weren't actually any DJ-related equipment and items for sale! So I decided to make it the first priority of 2014 to remedy that by adding a complete DJ section to the Storefront menu.

In the DJ section of the Storefront you will find pages with the following sub-categories :-
